Andolini's is a local, inexpensive favorite with 5 locations in the Charleston area. It features good New York-style pizza pies that have been, for years, consistently ranked 'best pizza' by local residents and by The City Paper. I've included a map to the downtown Charleston location, but visit their website for all locations.

FYI-Do not park in the adjacent parking lot on the Wentworth location- you will be towed. We've never been towed, because we can read signs, unlike a couple of unfortunate people we've witnessed! The Coleman Boulevard location in Mount Pleasant features a nice outdoor eating area shaded by large trees, for a nice way to relax over a slice in the evening.

Features good, quick pizza that's not heavy or greasy. The tasty Italian salads are loaded with very fresh ingredients, including lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, onion and shredded cheese. The downtown Charleston location is fun and funky, with the feel of a retro pizza parlor. The service is pretty good. There is a special that includes one one-topping slice, a small salad and a fountain drink for $6.

As our New Years Trip came to end, we kept looking for one more opportunity to stay a bit longer. Before we knew it, late afternoon was approaching and we were both hungry and about broke. You can't beat Andolini's slice, salad and drink special. I've really come to love the Wentworth Street location off King Street in downtown Charleston. It's off-beat and designed kind of funky. I struck up a conversation with one of the staff and discovered that the Wentworth location is actually the first Andolini's that opened.

Previous Trip Notes I like Andolini's. One of the locations is close to downtown Charleston and is convenient. I like the special that includes a greek salad, 1 slice of pizza, and a drink. It's a bargain.
