Before going to dinner, we decided to try visiting the old Pitt Street Bridge in Mount Pleasant. The bridge used to connect Mount Pleasant to Sullivan's Island, but it has been converted and renovated into a park and fishing area. It's a very nice green walkway with sidewalk, benches, and palmetto trees. The area is surrounded by marshland and looks toward the intracoastal waterway. We have seen very nice sunsets from here, but dark rain clouds rolled in before sunset tonight.

We decided to go with Greek food this evening. We were both very impressed with the food. It will be receiving a high rating and we'll probably list it as recommended. It makes me feel as though we have over-rated several of the restaurants we have dined at over the years.
The initial service was little bit slow at the start, but once order was taken, the food flowed at a very nice paced. The waitress was extremely pleasant, open to talk, and offered advice.
The fresh bread was very soft and the dipping oil was filled with herbs and Parmesan cheese. The bean soup was very flavorful. We were given a small amount of feta cheese that added an additional depth. The Greek salad was small, but loaded with ingredients: green bell pepper, onion, feta cheese, marinated cucumber and tomato, red cabbage, lettuce, peppercini pepper with a Greek dressing.
I see several of our previous restaurants in a new light as I compare them to Zeus. The one thing that stands out with all of the dishes at Zeus is that they were seasoned very well and had so much depth.
I ordered the broiled scallops with Greek potatoes. Scallops are difficult to cook correctly and no restaurant should even attempt to prepare them if they can’t prepare them correctly. I can’t count the number of times I’ve had overcooked scallops. These scallops at Zeus were the best broiled scallops I have had in 5 years of visiting the Charleston area. The Greek potatoes were almost stew-like, containing green bell pepper, onion, and tomatoes. It was extremely flavored and flavorful.
It was a lot of food and we left with food still on the plate. We heard a neighboring table asking for to go boxes to accompany their meals.
We already decided that we'll be returning to Zeus in the future, even before we had finished the meal.
It started raining while we were at dinner. Our plans to walk around Charleston will probably need to be postponed until Thursday evening.
