I've been looking forward to this walk for while. We tackled the Arthur Ravenel, Junior bridge this morning. We started out around 9:00, walking from the hotel to the foot of the bridge in Mount Pleasant.
It's roughly a 2 mile walk that isn't very strenuous at all. The foliage below the first part of the bridge was very dense and green. It gave way to a muddy shoreline and shallow pools, before opening up into the harbor. It was very cool to finally see the suspension cables in person. I began to get a little unsettled as we continued to ascend, but when we reached the viewing area that went around one of the primary towers, I started getting a little jumpy- I'm a little acrophobic.
The bridge was noticeably shaking as the traffic made its way across the bridge. We walked a little further, almost to the second tower. I snapped photographs all along the way. We met a number of other people walking and bicycling.
