Hello everyone!
I have decided to pull together a list of attractions that I feel exemplify Charleston and the Lowcountry.
This selection represents sites that I feel highlight the richness of history, natural beauty, and architecture that abound in Charleston County. These are sights that I would recommend to everyone who visits Charleston. Some are located inside the city, some are located in the surrounding Lowcountry, but all embody a sense of place and time that is uniquely Charleston.
East of the Cooper River: Fort Moultrie The Pitt Street Bridge Shem Creek
West of the Ashley River: Morris Island Lighthouse Angel Oak Drayton Hall
Downtown: The French Quarter... the Market, Chalmers Street The Battery & East Bay... Rainbow Row, the Old Exchange & Provost's Dungeon, the Edmondston-Alston House
Be sure to check out our descriptions and review of each, which include photos and maps, under the attraction browser!
